"The Revolution Of love shall win" : the one line that has accompanied my
journey as a writer from it's very start and continues to be a pillar to the framework of my writings. So over the past few months many have wondered about the meaning of the line that concludes all the writings I do, be it spirituality, political opinions or social opinions. Is it a group of words stitched together because they sound good, or is it the ideology that represents the framework for all my opinions and views? It has been 2 months since my last blog post and there has been more than one occasion where I went against the idea or postponed penning it down. This blog post looks at the ideology of love and tries to answer the question about the meaning of 'revolution of love' as I see it. The ideology of love has become more important than ever considering the growing number of in-humane acts we have to witness or hear about on a daily basis.
Coming directly into the subject of discussion, which is the ideology of love and it's meaning. I prefer to take a segmented approach at describing the ideology in-order to make it more easier and at the same time convey the crux of the message. Before we understand the socio-political idea behind having love as the center of discussion, it is essential to understand the importance of love as a philosophical concept and in day-day lives of human beings. Love is one of the most powerful ideas that can heal the world of any crisis. According to legend it was love for fellow beings that made prince Sidhartha go in search of solutions to human sufferings, similarly as per the Bible it was because of love for human beings that Jesus gave his life for saving humanity from sins and taking a more recent example, Karl Marx went on to take great suffering in his life in-order to study and develop a theory about liberating the oppressed classes. This is a common recurring theme associated with love because love is that one feeling that let's a person do things beyond the scope of his individual happiness and pain. Taking a day to day example to make things more simpler, a lover goes to great lengths for the happiness of the person he/she might be in love with and similarly sacrifice,compassion etc are byproducts under the umbrella of love.
Now you might still be puzzled as to how can this become an effective socio-political ideology, the answer is Yes! This core concept of love when applied in a larger framework results in the socio-political aspect of love.
Love as a socio-political ideology :
The idea of love as a socio-political concept can be divided into 2 core concepts:
1) Viewing love for fellow humans as the reason for birth of all the other ideas.
2) Placing love for fellow humans above all other ideologies and belief systems.
Now explaining the latter, love must be placed above all other ideologies and belief systems a human being might be having, because the absence of this idea is the reason for all political and group conflicts in the world. A conflict and violence arises when a person believes his ideology or group to be superior and his basic humanity is covered by the ignorant following of his ideology. When love is placed above personal belief systems nobody will do something that shall physically or mentally harm another human being or for that matter any living entity. The emphasis on love is necessary for fulfilling the goal of any ideology because it was born from human search for happiness which arises out of the love for fellow humans. I was very reluctant to write on this subject because I had a feeling that explaining my ideology would turn out to be a boring blog post but then felt the importance of doing so in our current day situation where violence and intolerance has become a day-day affair.
Political aspect of love involves raising voice for the people who don't have a voice and taking a firm stand for the people who need help ! This shouldn't arise out of sympathy but has to arise out of love which would make it stronger that ever. Blind following of wealthy professions or wealth in general should always be corrected and people must be taught to look downwards and not upwards !
Many people have asked me about my political leanings and some have even come to conclusions which varies from gandhian to leftist to democratic socialist , looks like they have all concluded that it is somewhere on the left side of the overall political spectrum. The reason I don't openly declare myself as to being someone who subscribes to a particular ideology is because I feel this as the time to explore and learn about maximum ideas before concluding upon being something. As they say it is all about being a "seeker". But the framework for being subscribed to any ideology should be the maturity to keep love for humanity at the top of all beliefs for the overall well-being of everyone. In days where hate among communities,political ideologies is growing at a fast pace it is important to come back to the basis of human life which is love and love alone ! So if this simple intro into the political aspect of love doesn't bore you, give me a feedback and I will do an in-depth blog focusing on the socio-political ideology of love.
Application of the this concept in daily lives:
Now to the interesting part about daily applications of the ideology of love and the impact that can have on our lives!
The most important aspect of love is that it can never fail.... Yes, I said it, It can never fail ! You might be wondering about the love failure stories are't you? If expecting something in return is involved it is called 'trade' and not 'love'. Embracing the idea of love in your life includes accepting people around you for what they are and accepting yourself for what you are ! Something which was in detail discussed in one of the previous blog posts was on the subject of changing yourself for others and a flip-side of the coin is expecting others to change according to your wishes. Many of the interpersonal problems are caused because of the lack of love or the victory of ego over love. The concepts of ego and love are like the twin soldiers in the minds of every human being and the decision is in your hands ! Think about it, haven't you stopped talking to a friend for a reason similar to "not behaving as 'I' expected". Think about it again as to how to had a quarrel with someone you care about, just because your mind misguided you at that point of time... Making mistakes is human nature but accepting them and apologizing is a 'choice' and the ideology of love is all about embracing the choice, the choice of happiness, choice of compassion and the choice of your inner self.
Even in the spiritual traditions Bhakthi is seen as the most beautiful of paths towards the supreme which is based on unconditional love for God and seeing God in every human being !
Become a part of the movement for Love by apologizing to someone who you might have hurt or by texting someone who has been ignored because of ego clashes, or take a stand on an issue you care about, Because at the end of the day before the old friend death comes by all our way it is these few movements and memories that we shall cherish !
Revolution of Love:
Coming to the conclusion,( I can keep talking about this and it's various aspects for hours but yeah it's already quite long) revolution of love symbolizes the hope that one day everyone will embrace the idea of love as to being superior to all other ideologies and communal divisions..... it is the symbolic hope that a day will come when the idea of humanity and compassion shall defeat the human ego and finally it is the message that on any day love reigns supreme to any personal ideology or belief I may hold! If we can march ahead together, the day is not far away when a world free of exploitation, war, violence and divisions is build on the basis of love, the ultimate elixir of life and ultimate solution !
Yes, Let us together contribute in all the ways we can towards the transformation of the world into a peaceful,loving family !
Always remember the society around us is trying to showcase life as a battlefield and you being a warrior fighting for job, wealth and fame ! But the truth is life is a magical journey which is like an empty portrait, fill it with the colors of love !
