My India , The land of wisdom and peace

On the eve of the 71st Independence day and our country turning 70 what better topic do I have than "India, The land of Wisdom and peace". Welcome to my 2nd blog and really thankful that you took your time off to read this :)) Welcome again!

When we hear "India" different things come to the mind of different people , from a tiranga to gandhi to unity in diversity to taj mahal ! Now the question is what actually is India? Now this answer will differ for every Individual but I wish to share mine and I welcome your feedback and would love to hear your answers too . For me India can be defined and loved in two ways for what it once was or for what we are. Now the major conflict in this question comes when these 2 ideas clash but the truth is every Indian can be proud of both these aspects. What I mean is the old cultural heritage of India which gave  knowledge and wisdom to the world and the India we built from 1947 , the world's largest democracy with secular principles based on the idea of peace and harmony ! In a deeper sense both these great aspects are built by the people of this great country , ie each one of us included !

Looking back at our Independence struggle , The one man whom I did't like when I first read about him but after all this while today I would call him among the greatest inspirations I ever got . Yes I am talking about Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi or Mahatma Gandhi . When I first heard his story I never could really accept his whole philosophy and even now I have difference of opinion on many things but I have the utmost respect for the great soul for what he was. People argue on who should get the credit for freedom struggle triumph and I am not into that debate but rather I believe the greater contribution of MK Gandhi was that he brought  the whole of India together and made everyone feel a sense of unity as a country . But more than that the life he lived and even during his last moments the last words he uttered was"Hey Ram" ......... Gandhiji has influenced my life through his writings and his quotes which have always served as an inspiration for not backing down . Now you may agree or disagree on his believes but there is no denying that he made this nation proud and even today we can proudly say we were born in the land where Mahatma Gandhi lived !

Every Indian can be proud of the rich contributions this land has given to the world in the form of knowledge be it Yoga or Ayurveda or the wisdom of the Gita  etc . We have some of the most beautiful and deepest languages in this very land . Yes I agree, when this 70th independence day comes we still have a long way to go , Its heart breaking to see people starving and not having good health facilities ....... But a bigger question is what are you doing about it ? I see people criticizing everyone but for a moment pause and ask yourself what are you doing for the improvement of these people ? Its easy to criticize but hard to do something about it................

The greatest lesson we can learn from the great souls who have lived is that loving something does't necessarily mean you have to hate the other side instead when you really love something you should actually start loving everything ! For example the boy on the day his love accepted his proposal would be so out of this world that he smiles at everyone he sees . Now you might be wondering why am I saying this here? Its because see for me personally I love my home the most , My city of kozhikode the most and I love malyalam language the most and I love each and everything about kerala but that does't mean I don't like the other great languages or places instead I must love all of them because I must be able to understand the feeling the people of those places have for their land ! This mutual love and tolerance is the basic of a great nation which we must understand .

Finally we must realize the meaning of Independence is not merely physical independence but true independence is in ones mind again referring to Gandhiji who once famously quoted " you may imprison me , torture me but you can never imprison my mind " . So always remember that real independence is the independence of ones mind and when you have full control of your mind nothing imprisons you ............

So dear friends be proud that you were born in this land of wisdom and peace and let's work together for the tomorrow where there will never be no need to see a dream for tomorrow ever again !

Let your lives be filled with Krishna's bliss, Rama's dharma , Gandhiji's truthfulness, Bhagat Singh's  will power and your beautiful inner personality !

"Even in the darkest times its not because light is absent instead its because you have your eyes closed "

Let us all accept the different ideas people have of what India is and find our unity in the fact that we all are trying to analyse this great nation in our own perspectives!

Spread happiness
Spread joy
Spread Peace
Jai Hind !

Beyond The Mirage of Unrealistic Expectations, Exploring the Idea of Purposeful Living

What does it mean to be living purposefully? Is it determined by the list of professional achievements on your LinkedIn wall, or by the popularity of your social media presence? Is a purposeful life about being happy all the time as claimed by the champions of toxic positivity?  We indeed live in the most advanced technological age till date, but also in an age of unrealistic expectations. So what then is purposeful living, beyond all the mirage and illusions of commercial marketing. This blog is a humble attempt to put forward my personal view point on the same, welcome to the latest blog from tea break with life.  Exploring The Idea of Purposeful Living:  Today, many people live in a world suffocated by commercial claims that offer you a purposeful life. It fascinates me to look back and observe how this has grown over the years. Today it has reached a point where parents start stressing about their child's school admissions when the child is a newborn. From chil...

Embracing The Seasons of Life

The cold mornings of December have arrived, irritating alarm sounds disturb your peaceful sleep. Half awake and half asleep you search for the snooze option on your phones, hoping to extend that period of deep rest. Nature too remains in a state of rest, after a year of growth and autumn of letting go, meanwhile the animal kingdom survives on food saved during the summer. Few of the animals are in a deep state of hibernation (long sleep), something a lot my friends may envy about them. In the above ways, each of us welcome and go through the season of winter, a period of rest before the new growth of spring arrives.  Well, now that is the season cycle of nature, but what about the seasons of life? Don't we all go through the springs of new beginnings, success and growth like summer, the autumn of moving on and finally the dark winters of rest? But do we actually understand these cycles and their lessons? Or do we in the modern world try to live in an eternal summer of ...

The Graceful Impermanence Of Life

Life is an ever-flowing stream of experiences; it waits for none, spares nobody, and shall keep flowing ahead. All that exists today, including ourselves, are a result of all that made way for it to exist; in another sense, impermanence is the reason for our existence. On the flip side, all that exists, including our most valuable possessions, relations, achievements, and journey, remains clouded with impermanence. Human beings realize this at the deepest level, yet we struggle with change, we try to cling to what was, and our minds run havoc with 'what if' scenarios. If we look deeper, we realize that it is futile to fight impermanence, not only because it is inevitable but because it made what we value possible in the first place. For a second, look around yourself, and see some of the most important people in your life today. Aren't there many who were unknown to you a few years ago? Aren't there people who came to your life as a direct result of a change you may hav...
